Harvest House Publishers gave me the green light to officially let the cat out of the bag.
I have not one, but two new Amish books set in Lancaster County coming out! The first for Harvest House will release the fall of 2017 and the second in the winter of 2018.
Whoo-hoo! Time to sign my two-book contract with Harvest House!
As release dates creep closer, I’ll provide more detail. No official titles or covers to share yet. I can’t wait to introduce you to my new characters and their stories!
Why will it take so long? Harvest House has a full calendar and schedule of books already slated by some of your favorite authors. My first book’s manuscript is complete, until the publishing house editor combs through chapter by chapter. In response to their comments, I must go back and rework … an arduous but fun task.

I an looking forward to your new books. Amish is my very favorite read. I am slowly in the process of turning my bedroom into Amish. I tried to find a pattern to make the dolls but to no avail. If you can’t get out much, I imagine reading is a wonderful treat, Melinda! I know several women who are physically active, but choose to stay home and read, which isn’t such a bad idea. My mom and I love Amish fiction and have are calendars marked for your release dates in 2017 and 2018. We buy at least one copy for ourselves and one to donate to our local library.

Good question, Jennifer! I have started the second book and will continue to work on it until the publishing house sends my first one back with its editor’s notations. Then I will have to change gears and work on the first manuscript again. I’m getting to know my characters (my new best friends) in the second book and I want them firmly implanted in my head when I start my rewrite. Thanks for asking and thanks for entering the giveaway!

Several have given me different explanations about why the dolls were and are faceless, but I love them that way as it represents their humility and desire for community.
