I seldom get stressed-out. So, why did I awake with a start after a dream about meeting someone for lunch and not being able to locate the restaurant? Was my sleepy-time foray merely a worrisome dream or a nightmare?
Should I take this recent Can’t-find-the-restaurant dream as an indication that I’m actually under pressure I don’t address during the day? When awake, I focus on good things: our younger son is home for a week-long visit and I even found my iPad after two weeks during an AHA! a moment in the middle of the night. Thankfully, my brain was searching while my body rested.
In the past, I’ve experienced obnoxious dreams, such as finding myself in the high school cafeteria because I never really graduated from high school after all, let alone college. Or I arrived at class unprepared for a test. Those dreams seemed to have dissipated. To my knowledge, I’ve never dreamed I drove to the mall in my nightgown or experienced hairy-scary nightmares such as plunging over Niagara Falls in a canoe. Or, possibly I’ve forgotten them.
Do you think nightmares are caused by unresolved stress?
I try my best to avoid nerve-racking situations, such as driving on the freeway during rush-hour or filling my calendar too tightly. But sometimes it’s not possible to escape. When our loved ones grow ill, and the world seems to revolve faster than it used to, finding ways to manage stress becomes essential. So when there are stories about people trying alternative products (cannabis-related) like ones found on sites like www.canadacannabisdispensary.ca, in the hopes of managing stress better than before, it isn’t surprising. No one wants to be stressed, and if there are ways to relieve this, then why not at least try it out? To avoid ill health, stay positive mentally and promote relaxation. Moreover, herbal and natural remedies might be worth considering and even trying out for yourself. For example, products from a cbd terpenes manufacturer may be able to assist with this as well as bring other possible health benefits. If you need to buy nitrous oxide tanks, visit this website at d8superstore.com to place your order right away.
I actually know quite a few people that use cannabis-infused products to help them deal with the stresses of everyday life. Additionally, it is no secret that marijuana-based products have come a long way in recent years. For instance, one of my best friends likes to use cannabis concentrates as part of her mental health toolkit.
In case you were not already aware cannabis concentrates are extracts that are made by using chemicals or solvents to separate the cannabinoids and terpenes from the original cannabis plant. The result is a concentrated mixture almost purely comprised of psychoactive cannabinoids and terpenes. If you would like to learn more about the potential health-boosting properties of cannabis extracts, you can find wax for sale by browsing most online dispensaries.
Just remember that if you are going to be using any natural products, then it is strongly recommended that you speak to a doctor first as not everything is suitable for everyone.
Would you find comfort living at a slower pace like the Amish? Hold on, not even the Amish live without stress. They must deal with family members, obey church leaders and regulations called the Ordnung, inclement weather that affects crops and their ability to move about, for the most part in a horse-drawn buggy. Plus, choosing the right mate and deciding whether or not to join the Amish church, a lifetime commitment for both membership and marriage. How do you think they manage?
As an author, I observe the body language people use when stressed. Can you tell when your spouse, family member, or a friend is anxious? How about your pet? Is your first reaction to comfort them or steer clear?
Do you have a personal de-stressor when you feel tension over-taking you? What helps to lesson your anxiety and fills you with tranquility?

Boy do I get nightmares but when I wake I just ignore what I saw or went through.
I would say a lot are from stress or even what I might have eaten before bed. In fact some books I read will come back to me, a lot of times I’m living Amish and I love it!!
I don;t know if I made a comment here before or not, (new to this), but I do LOVE to read books about the Amish, from many different writers. Have never read yours, but sure would love to win them so I could, or win the quilt to cuddle up in on cold winter nights.
I’m delighted to welcome you to my blog, Marilyn! I hope you get a chance to read one of my books soon. Thanks for leaving a comment and entering the giveaway. Good luck!
Kate

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your comment, Tina! Interesting that your doctor recommended coloring. If I had more time … Fortunately, I always make time for reading and walking, not to mention writing. Good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
I’ve always walked in my sleep during stressful times. It had stopped the last few years, but recently started again. I try to relieve stress with reading, crafting, scrapbooking and lately I’ve been walking 3 miles almost on a daily basis.

I like to make time to read when I’m stressed.
My stress reliever is listening to an audio book. LOVE audio books!!
I need to start listening to audiobooks, Donna! While in the car, cleaning house, or working in the yard? My pruner listens to them and I imagine he has heard many great novels. Thanks for leaving your comment and enter into giveaway!
Kate
I read or zone out on the internet (if possible). Mainly, read.
Sometimes we just need to zone out, Tina! Put our worries on the back burner. Reading would be my choice as I spend so much time on the computer writing. Good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
As I age I find that soaking in warm water and listening to Christian music is the best destressor for me!! It is relaxing to my body and soul!!
Sounds like any fabulous de-stressor, Charlotte! Relaxing and comforting. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comment! Good luck in the giveaway!

I love to take country rides as I live around a few communities of Amish here in Michigan.
Country rides in Amish communities sound fabulous, Terri! I’d love to be with you. Good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
I think I was Amish in my past life. I love all things Amish, do much that I just went and looked at an Amish house that is for sale. This would help me to relax while reading all my Amish books!
How exciting that you’re looking at an Amish house to purchase, Danyle! I find reading Amish books relaxing no matter where I am. Wishing you the best in your home purchase and in the giveaway!
Kate
I deal with stress by reading a good book! I get lost in the story! I also paint fuzz art pictures to relieve stress! I love to watch the pictures come to life! I exercise with a Leslie Sansone DVD — it is very uplifting and encouraging and if you feel down before ….. You feel better after you finish exercising!
dowelljanet (at) hotmail (dot) com
I’m going to have to look up those DVDs, Janet! I have no idea what fuzz art is, but was an art major in college so I figure I’d enjoy it. Of course, I concur: reading a good book relieves stress, unless it’s something scary, which I avoid, especially at night time. Thanks for your great comment and for entering the giveaway!
Kate
I will post a picture of a fuzz art picture on Facebook so you can see what I am talking about!
When does this contest end?
Kate, that is just beautiful and I love your blog. It is always so interesting to read! Stress relievers for me are gardening and curling up with a great book! With a beautiful quilt, of course!
Thanks for your encouraging support, Sonja! I’m glad you enjoy my blog. I find my garden very soothing too and simply can’t get through a day without reading. Good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
I usually turn to my flower gardens and work in them for a stress reliever. Sometimes I’ll just go out and walk amongst them and take in the beauty of nature and God’s blessing 🙂 Last week we took our vacation to Amish country (Walnut Creek OH area) and setting out on the porch with my morning coffee watching the horses play and hearing the clip clop of the buggies was a much needed stress reliever. I actually got video of one of the local horses in its pasture playing with a ball. It is too cute. Would love to share it with you.
I would love to see that video, Carla! If you put it on Facebook please let me know! I love horses, and also flowers. Fortunately, my neighbors do a better job cultivating them than I do. We have had a very dry summer and my garden is a shade garden. Not a great combination, but I take pleasure in watering and pruning. Thanks for entering the giveaway!
Kate
I did put it on facebook….my page.
Thanks, Carla! Much appreciated.
Kate
I tagged you..did you see the video?

Thanks for the beautiful pictures . Loved them . Wouldclovecto win your willow quilt , I love it . I also love your books . Thanks
lizd225(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for leaving your comment, Liz! Although people gripe about work, it is often a great de-stressor. My father who was a Classics (Ancient Greek & Latin) professor loved to split wood and other physical activities. Gave his mind free reign to think. I imagine quilting is too and know reading does the trick. Wishing you good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
As of right now, I’m dealing with, a sinus infection, an inner ear infection, and vertigo.
Stress, what’s that?
No fun, Janet! Hope you recover soon, you poor thing! Thanks for entering the giveaway!
Kate
I like to destress by first breathing deeply in then exhale then go for a walk or to my room to think . I may then read my book to take me to a different place of peace and tranquility. Love reading takes my mind off my stressors and onto something different.
Sounds as though you have a good routine, Teresa! I want to learn more breathing techniques; they seem to help when I remember to use them. Thanks for leaving a comment and entering the giveaway. Good luck!.
Kate
If stressed I like to find a quiet spot & escape into a good book. In the cold months I love to grab my lap throw a good cup of tea or coffee & shut out the world for awhile 🙂 Ahh Quillows! my kids loved them. I’ve made quite a few and they are always a hit as a gift! I’d love to own this lovely 🙂
I’m impressed that you make quillows, DK! Finding a book, a cup of coffee or tea, and escaping to a quiet place sounds tranquil. Perfect for de-streeing. Thanks for commenting and entering the giveaway!
Kate
I used to walk to get rid of stress. But, arthritis keeps me from this now. Reading a good book and cross stitching are my “go to” solutions to stress now.
Sorry you can’t walk anymore, Elaine! That would be terribly disappointing. I’ve been so sick all I could do was walk around the dining room table, but I needed to keep moving. (Newton’s Law) I’m grateful & impressed you can cross stitch and reading is hard to beat! Thanks for entering the giveaway and good luck!
Kate
Stress is something I deal with quite frequently. My best stress relievers are playing the piano, reading, listening to calming music and walking.
You have a lovely menu of de-stressors, Tiffany! I’m a lousy pianist, but I plunk along when learning a vocal piece. I love calming music too: tranquil & serene. Otherwise, I choose silence, because a I can’t ignore music. Thanks for your comment and for entering the giveaway!
Kate
Hi…if I notice someone close to me stresed I try to give them private time to overcome their stress. For myself I find reading, working on my family tree or SHOPPING best for me. The shopping really works until the bills roll in..ha ha..I love the pillow quilt and believe it or not have not seen one like that. Would love very much to win the pillow and the book. Thanks for the chance.
I’ve heard many people shop to de-stress, Judy! Doesn’t work for me, but I’ve certainly given it a try. Your family tree sounds intriguing. Glad you like the quillow, which I hadn’t seen either until visiting Lancaster County several years ago. A young Amish saleswoman told me this one was her favorite. Good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
Pink and a hand-made Amish quillow, now that’s a solution to stress for sure! When I’m stressed I will read or knit or work on learning crochet (which causes stress!) The absolute best solution for me when I’m stressed is to be quiet and pray. Also, a good cry helps, too! Thanks for the opportunity to win. You have the absolute best giveaways! Linda
A good cry is indeed good, Linda! I don’t cry often, but happy endings, like when Lassie comes homes, get me every time. I figure those tears are just waiting to come out even if I’ve forgotten the reason. How wonderful that you knit and are learning to crochet! And for praying. Thanks for entering the giveaway!
Kate
To relive stress i try and read a good book are work on one of my many crafts i have.
I imagine a craft table or a project in process, Jenny! Wish I could see it. What fun and peaceful, as is reading, of course. Thanks for entering the giveaway. Good luck!
Kate
My mother always said pulling weeds was a great de-stressor but I find reading helps me move away from whatever is stressing me out and takes me to another place and time all together.
Thank you for your great giveaway and thank you for sharing your great post.
Thanks, Melanie! Your mother had a good idea. Too bad I can’t weed and read at the same time; that would indeed be stressful. I hadn’t thought about weeding. I get some of my best writing Ideas when weeding, plus a sense of accomplishment. Getting myself out there is a different story. Thanks for visiting my blog and entering the giveaway!
Kate
I love to read and snuggle with my small dog when I’m stressed or having a difficult day. The books take you to a different time you actually become a part of their stories. This has really helped change my life after having two heart attacks in a 6 month period. Thank you for your stories you continue to share with your readers taking us to a simpler life.
I love the feeling of stepping into another place & time … as long as it isn’t scary, Sandra! I once watched a TV show: People wore blood pressure cuffs while stroking their dogs and dramatically lowered their blood pressure. Apparently it worked with other pets, but I am a dog lover. I pray right now that your doctors and healthcare providers are blessed with special insight and wisdom. Thanks for entering the contest and good luck!
Kate
When I feel stressed out I walk and pray and try my best to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Hearing the birds chirping and a neighbors rooster reminds me that life can be simple and I read.
Your walk sounds like one I’d enjoy, Janet! I love the sounds of nature. Sometimes I remember to pray or softly sing “This is the day …” Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! Good luck!
Kate
Do you have a pattern for the quillow they look easy to make! I would love to do a small quilting project . Love this it is absolutely beautiful!!
I don’t have the pattern, Teresa, and the Amish woman who sewed it has no phone or internet. I just checked on Google and spotted several articles and videos. No idea how reliable. Thanks for leaving a comment and entering the giveaway!
Kate
I enjoy walking and listening to nature that God created all around us. Also other ways to distressed reading a good book (most of them are Amish based), the Bible, and working in my yard. Blessings for your future writing and your books are on my list to read. Glad to find some new Amish authors. What a great give-away Kate Lloyd. Thank you : )
I’m excited to hear you haven’t read my books and hope you can in the future, Marilyn! I was born into a household of walkers and continue the tradition. Listening to the sounds of nature, praying, musing over my writing, plus getting my exercise for the day. I’ve heard walking is the best form of exercise and it certainly has its benefits. Thanks for leaving a comment and enter in the giveaway! Good luck!
Kate
I have used a lot of different ways to deal with stress. When I was a kid I loved to walk outside when the wind was blowing really hard. I could fight the wind when I couldn’t fight the situation. If a person is causing me stress I usually try to walk away to keep from saying something I might regret all the while saying the serenity prayer over and over. Then I start organizing or cleaning or working outside. If it is the middle of the night I usually try to read and sip on a cup of hot tea.
You have wonderful strategies and the lovely way of writing them down, Jan! Plus, you’re putting your stress to good use. Exercise and a tidy house and yard. I read every night before bed (something peaceful) to flip my brain into another place, free of anxiety. Thanks for writing and good luck in the giveaway!
Kate
thank you for this contest. I would love to will this! Blessings!
