This month’s blog post is short as I’m currently in the process of writing my newest and yet to be completed manuscript. Creating plot twists and inventing new characters is fabulous fun, but it also demands all my attention and energy. Harvest House Publishers and I are also finalizing the cover for my next novel, A Letter From Lancaster County, releasing July 1, 2017.
I love staying in touch with you, dear readers. Especially with Valentine’s Day just a week away. It is too easy to let friendships slide when the pressure of a deadline looms. So I wish to say Thank You for your patience! Please stick with me.

Facebook is wonderful as a way to connect with friends but I love to get and send a phone call for the “personal touch”. The quillow is lovely! Thank you for the chance in the drawing. Blessings!

Kate
Facebook and other social media works for most. Older folks that do not use social media, you just have to keep trying with letters and phone calls. Love the quillow, very beautiful! Blessings to you.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comment, Marilyn!

Wow! What an awesome package. I like FB for communicating with many at once, but still phone or drop a note of a few lines into the mail.
Thanks for leaving your note, Susan!
Kate
Facebook keeps me in touch with most people, then email as well. I have been able to reconnect with several old, dear friends since Facebook became my go-to place to hang out!

Kate
I stay in touch with those i love by sending each one a different text message. Yes it takes some time but time well spent because they are what matter the most to me.
That’s great you take the time, Pamela!
Kate
Hello Kate, I like the old fashion hand written note, even if it’s just a couple of lines I think it’s not only fun yo get in the mail but well appreciated by the one receiving it. You never know when you may make someone’s day with that little note!
The Quillows is very beautiful, good luck to all.
I’m sure the people you write do appreciate it, Cherese!
Kate
Sounds like most people agree about staying in touch by way of FB or texting. I have to agree with them. I’m not one who likes to talk on the phone for very long. With fb or texting, I can take my time and think about what I want to say.
Thanks for entering the giveaway, Pat!
Kate
I talk on the phone with my parents and one sister daily. I talked with my other sister weekly. My daughter calls on her way to work most week days. My son calls weekly. We also share pictures on FB and FaceTime occasionally.
All sorts of wonderful ways to stay in touch, Lucy!
Kate
Facebook works the BEST for me. Second the phone. We try to keep in touch at least once a week. Thank you for the chance to win.

Thanks for entering the giveaway, Sharon!
Kate
I try to send a text to friends or family I haven’t seen in a while, just to let them know I’m thinking of them. Thanks for the chance to win! I’ve never heard of a quillow, what a beautiful and clever idea! I’d also love to try one of your books!
Good luck in the giveaway, Christi! I’d love for you to try one of my books.
Kate
I like to keep simple note cards and encouragement/thinking of you cards on hand to send to friends and family members. Also, a PM on facebook is another great way to stay in touch. I always enjoy receiving snail mail.
Beautiful pillow for the giveaway–perfect colors for my chair or sofa. : )
Letter and card writing is almost a lost art, Marilyn!
Kate
I try and stay in touch with everyone! I am the socialite in the family. I have celebrations, gatherings and any day the Lord gives us is a day of celebration. Love sending cards, notes, letters…but I must admit sometimes an event or holiday gets a bit hectic and there sit my cards…..sigh!!!! Family and friends are cherished by me…I truly try to stay in touch or let all know what is going on within my family.
Why am I not surprised you are the socialite of your family, Linda? Good for you!
Kate
I keep in touch by phone and especially FB now days.
I would love to win another book of yours. It’s been probably 2 years when I won your book. It was a great book.

Blogposts, letters, phone calls, visits whenever possible, the biggest thing sometimes is making it a priority
Glad to hear you make keeping in touch a priority, Pat!
Kate
I keep in touch with a quick text or a phone call. Then, maybe once or twice a year a small gathering of cousins, mid-state, so no one has to drive too far.
Your family get-togethers sound fun, Kathy!
Kate
I like to send cards. I try to send them once a month no special reason just to let them know I care. No certain date in the month. I pray about it and when their name comes to mind I send them one. Sometimes they get 2 cards. I know Gods telling me they need to k ow someone cared
Is there anyone who isn’t thrilled to receive a card, Connie? Good for you!
Kate
Katie I love your books, and now with Spring and Summer around the corner I will have more time to read. I work for our School district so I am off during the summer and love taking my tablet to the campground or out in the yard to read.
Thanks for your fun letter, Gail! Happy reading.
Kate
I do keep cards and letters, and I still like sending letters and cards to my best friend, I have a friend that pasted away and I have a shoe box full of her letters, I’m so glad I have.
Yes, those cards are treasures, Melissa!
Kate
Facebook has reunited me with several of my cousins and old school mates that I wouldn’t have never reconnected with.
Love your books and everything Amish.
What fun, Barbara!
Kate
Beautiful photos and such a vibrant color on your Quillow.
I don’t think I’ve tossed a greeting card away yet!! It’s
nice to know others keep theirs too.
I think you’ve outdone me, Diane!
Kate
A quick text just to say I miss you and love you are what me and my bestie do she works odd hours and so do I at times. Just a quick thinking of you makes the heart smile.
Sounds as though you’ve come up with a lovely solution, Trish!
Kate
I am a newer “texter” something I told my children not to expect, lol. Saying hello on FB. In person is really the best but long way away! Thank you for all of your wonderful words… Pennsylvania Patchwork would be a wonderful addition for me! And… loved the pillow until I saw what was inside it!!! Please add me to the drawing and Happy Valentine’s Day, Kate. Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House
Good luck in the giveaway, Kathleen! I’m not much of a text are either, but spend so much time on the computer …
Kate
It’s been many, many years since I’ve written an actual letter! I used to write them quite often. Now email, text, and Facebook has replaced all that! The instant communication is nice 🙂 I still do talk on the phone too.
Thank you for the chance to win that lovely quillo! It’s in the color I love best, blue!
I must plead guilty too, Trixi, except when writing my Amish friends.
Kate
Moving here from Canada I lost touch with not only friends but some family members. In 2011 I took computer classes at the local library and was able to start getting in touch with people I hadn’t heard from in years by emails. Then came Facebook. This has helped a lot to be able to rekindle relationships and keep in touch more often. Also on the messenger app I can even call my cousin in England and not only talk to her but see her as well. What a blessing moderation technology has become when we can keep in touch more often with those we love.
Wonderful, Shirley!
Kate
I love to stay in touch through Facebook messages or a quick email. Either takes very little time, but is so meaningful to the recipient. Love all Amish books. They are the only fiction books I read. Thanks for the contest.
i agree, keeping in touch is meaningful to the recipient, Joy!
Kate
I love connecting with friends and family on Facebook.
Thanks, and good luck in the giveaway, Brenda!
Kate
Wonderful giveaway, Kate. I keep in touch with my friends by phone and in Facebook. I also have a supply of birthday, get well, thank you, anniversary and sympathy cards that I send to my friends. I take last years calendar every year and mark everyone’s birthdays, and anniversaries on the new one to help me remember their special day. I don’t keep any of the cards that I receive after a week or so. I wish that I had kept some from those that have passed away.
You sound like a fabulous friend, Mary!
Kate
I used to send cards, but as life got busy I didn’t send as many. Most of my family is close by so we talk often or Facebook!
Thanks for writing, Carole!
