As I left the optometrist a few days ago I was met with a lovely sight: Ravenna Gardens. I couldn’t help but stop to admire the lovely arrangements and blossoms. How did I manage to get out of there without purchasing anything? By reminding myself that it is too early to plant in our garden—I’ve made that mistake before. It’s in the upper 30s right now. Too cold for planting. But soon!
New temptations around every corner!
As I write a book, I consider the time of year akin to a character. Seasons each have their own personality, don’t you think? When writing my novel Stage Fright, I was ready for spring, as I am today. I immersed myself in memories of time spent in Great Britain in Springtime. What fun! Here is a snippet from Stage Fright, what Midwest Reviews called “clean romance reading at its best.”
“Nick drove us through Epping Forest. Out the window, I saw mammoth oak and beech trees sprinkled with lime-green leaves, tall against the pastel blue sky. We passed a grassy meadow. Mist rose as sunlight warmed the ground; the earth looked thick and supple. I imagined a knight galloping across the clearing, his steed’s hooves kicking up clumps of sod.
“Queen Elizabeth I used to hunt here, as did her father, Henry VIII ,” Nick said through the microphone.

Hard to resist these cute daffodils!
Spring is a busy time for my friend and writer Kathleen Kohler and her husband who own and work the organic Silver Maple Farm. When I spoke to her yesterday about choosing seeds ahead of time, I was reminded of one of my favorite characters, Silvia, in my Amish novel A Letter from Lancaster County.
Silver Maple Farm grows fresh, organic fruits and vegetables.

I love Spring after a long NH winter. We still have a lot of snow around here and it will be a while still before flowers put up.
I hope the snow melt sooner than later!
The daffodils are starting to come up. But wwe are to have tonight into tomorrow. So ready for Spring and warmer weather. So I can sit out on the porch and read Amish Books.

So do I!
We don’t have any sign of flowers in Maine yet. But the snow is melting and grass is showing thru.

The signs of spring are popping up everywhere in Kentucky, The buds on the trees are starting to appear, my tulip tree has a few blooms at the top already. Dogwoods are blooming. I just LOVE seeing this.

Winter is heading home spring welcome
After all this cold weather I’m ready to see pretty spring flowers.
I feel your pain. After a few nice days is down to below freezing again today.
I love Spring. God is showing us a beautiful renewal!
I love the idea of renewal! That is what makes spring so exciting isn’t it? He is good!
Robins are showing up in our yard.
I get so much enjoyment of hearing them in our yard too.
A wonderfully generous give a way. Thank you. I love spring. All the new beginnings of life popping up. Right now I have Daffodils, Crocus, Tulips coming up in the front yard. Buds on the trees in the back and front.
My favorite season of all is almost here! Spring is a time for planting and envisioning beauty!
I love spring because I can start taking my husband out for walks (that he can do in the winter) because he had 2 strokes and need to get all the walking in that he can
My daffodils and tulips are coming up. I saw a crocus trying to bloom this week. We are supposed to be getting rain turning to snow tonight into tomorrow. Last Saturday it was in the 70’s here! Typical March weather. Anxious for spring to get here.
I noticed yesterday the my mini daffodils are starting to pop up. Fortunately, they pop up every year. Hopefully the other spring bulbs Planted will survive, especially the tulips. They have done well, unfortunately. They are my favorite flower!
Luv your pictures!
Where I live spring is a ways off. We still have snow and this morning it was 4 degrees above zero. I look forward to the tulips which are the first ones to bloom in my flower bed.I love the pictures of your little dog.
Well we are gonna have Spring….but NOT this weekend…expecting snow and COLD….but by Monday should be getting warm again….One thing…..one season leads into another….so we always have something to look forward to….TGIF everyone!
Daffodils and tulip trees are blooming here in Arkansas. We are getting excited to plant both the vegetable garden and more plants, seeds and bulbs into those already in the flower beds. BUT all that will have to wait. Today temperatures dropped way down and we first got freezing rain/sleet and then snow. Everything covered so far with about 2 inches and still snowing.
Love all the new births of God’s critters that come in spring from the birds to the calves. Sure feel for them today in this cold weather so will be putting out lots of food for them for the next few days. We even put food for them on the covered porch so they can see it.
I love Spring but my allergies do not.
So, I take allergy shots twice a month,
instead of once.
We have 5 of your books in the church library.
Thank you for entering me in the giveaway.
i would love win one your books and amazon gift card! I LOVE SPRING WHEN ALL FLOWERS ARE STARTING TO BLOOM!
Spring has always been my favorite season. A new beginning. Warmer weather coming. Planting a vegetable garden, praying the seeds will germinate and grow food. Plus my birthday is almost always on the first day of Spring!
Kate, I think this last cover is the prettiest of all. I do love snow scenes with some color thrown in. Before that my next favorite has always been Leaving Lancaster.
So ready for Spring! Although Mother Nature has given us a late snow fall, most is melting quickly. But so ready to see the buds on the trees and flowers stems poking up through the soil and green grass!
I am enjoying the daffodils that are starting to bloom, and the Western Bluebirds have returned.
I have a long list of books that I would love to buy…so, that AMAZON card would be real handy! A new book of yours would be very appreciated, too! Looking forward to a bit warmer weather and more sunshine here in Oregon!
Praying for the ugly war in Ukraine to END, and wishing it would. As we know, the Bible says there will be wars, and/or rumors of wars as long as the world stands, but just feel so sorry for the innocent victims of this senseless invasion and all of the damage it has caused, for the families split apart, displaced, some injured and killed.
Thank you Kate, for this giveaway and the opportunity to try to win!
Blessings to you and yours ~
